Life these past few months have been rough on humanity. The pandemic has impacted everyone’s lives in some fashion and it is hard to not feel helpless at times. I find myself easily getting caught up in the lows of life, and have to remind myself to relish the little things and build a world surrounded by the good memories - a world I call Candy Land.
My textile collection, Candy Land, portrays some of my life experiences during the pandemic through the use of motifs drawn using single contour lines. The muted colors conjure the nostalgia of yesterday, while the single contour lines symbolize the once steady path we are now adventuring on.
